Sharmila came to Canada 9 years ago with her husband and three children. Sharmila had obtained a British Qualification from the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators, United Kingdom and specialized in Corporate legal work. She soon realized had a qualification no one recognized and no Canadian work experience . Frustrated at not being able to find a suitable job, and when she did – having been laid off 3 times – she decided to start her own Paralegal and Immigration business. She re-qualified and worked long hours in her basement office. Today 7 years later she heads Ann Arbour Consultants Inc., mainly providing Immigration services to clients worldwide and Ann Arbour Executive Search Inc., which provides recruitment and placement services to clients internationally. With their head office located in Toronto and branch offices located in Alberta, Saskatchewan in Canada and in Philippines, India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Dubai , Internationally– Sharmila loves the fact that she has the opportunity to travel – experience other cultures, and be an instrument in delivering the Canadian dream to others who wish to immigrate to Canada.
In 2009 she set up Perfectly Me inc., an organization that will assist people realize their career and business dreams. She certified herself as a Life Coach at Coach Training Alliance in USA and specializes in career and business coaching. Having been through tough times and having made many mistakes when she started her own business because she had no assistance or encouragement nor contacts to grow her business – Sharmila has set her mind on being there for anyone who wishes to start a new career, change careers- start a business or accelerate their business.
At the end of 2009 quite by accident ( or maybe not) she came across the Power of Women Exchange – an organization dedicated to the success of business, entrepreneurial and professional women. As her vision and the vision of POWE was so similar Sharmila took up the post of Chapter Director of POWE for Toronto East and has dedicated herself to empowering, educating and connecting women to achieve success in their chosen paths.
