I am so thrilled to be The Canadian Networker and looking forward to growing this wonderful networking business.  The main focus at the moment is to work with the existing leaders and set up more Ultimate Networking Events.  We will be looking for Business Community Leaders in other areas in Ontario, as well as branching to other provinces to hold Networking Events.   The ideal candidates will be people who want to help fellow entrepreneurs grow their business, while they increase their own profile in the business community doing these events.

Are We Experiencing Speaker Fatigue? PDF Print E-mail
Written by Ronnie Swais

Oprah was just in town – news I am sure with all the media hype, Facebook postings and Tweets, you were well aware of. I love Oprah, but what she really did was make me think about something I have been grappling with since my last live event.

At every event I hold, I have a stage to allow for speakers, however I am having a heck of a time getting people to sit and listen to the speakers. These are fabulous, wonderful, accomplished professionals but I still can't get people to sit and listen to them.

As I and many other event coordinators have had this problem before, I went so far as to set the speakers up in the area where I served a FREE lunch, dessert, coffee and had beautiful table seating. People took their plates, packed with food and walked away to mingle with other guest.

I was at a loss to explain this and of course my speakers were really pissed at me because I couldn't get them an audience. There in lies the big question. Is it the responsibility of the speaker to be able to draw an audience or the event coordinator's to 'hog tie' the guest to their seats to create an audience?
